Every Friday night at our house is movie night with homemade pizza. My kids just can’t wait each week for our movie/pizza night to roll around, but I have to admit that some weeks I don’t want to roll out and make pizzas. A couple of weeks ago, I didn’t feel like making homemade pizzas, but it being friday night I knew I needed to make some kind of spin on pizza or my kids might be disappointed. So I made a quick batch of french bread and stuffed all of the pizza goodies into the bread. Here’s how I did it . . .

French Bread Pizza

Directions

Make a batch of french bread dough.

Divide dough in half and roll out, as if you were making cinnamon rolls. Brush with butter and add pizza toppings and cheese. Roll up and seal seam and ends. Brush with butter, cover and let rise for 45 minutes.

Bake for 20-25 minutes in a 400 degree oven. Serve warm with pizza sauce on the side.

Detailed Instructions

I made a full batch of my french bread dough so that we could make two large pizza breads. Right after mixing the dough divide it in half and roll out flat, as if you were making cinnamon rolls. {I rolled mine out very thin so that we would have lots of pizza toppings through out the bread. Brush the dough with butter, except the edge that will seal the bread closed. Now add pizza toppings and cheese.Pizza Bread 008Pizza Bread 007Pizza Bread 006
Roll up and seal the seam and ends. Then I brushed both loaves with butter, covered and let rise for about 45 minutes.Pizza Bread

Serve warm with pizza sauce/marinara on the side. This pizza bread was a huge hit at our house. We made a pepperoni and olive pizza and a ham and cheese pizza. We will definitely be adding this recipe to one of our favorites. I hope you enjoy!Pizza Bread
