I have done caulking in many various projects (one being my DIY Shiplap Fireplace) and I have experimented with many techniques. So I thought I would share how I like to do caulking . . .
You will notice that there are a bunch of different techniques for caulking out there. I have tried MANY of them and have found this technique works the best for me personally.
Step 1: Application
Apply the caulk by holding the caulk gun at a 45 degree angle. Move relatively quickly and create a smooth consistent bead line.
Step 2: Wipe Away
Before the caulk can begin setting up, use a damp rag and wipe it clean. This will help push the caulk it into your cracks and give a very clean and finished look. That’s it!
