Every Sunday evening we have a game night. We pop popcorn, have a milkshake or ice cream sundae and play preschool age games with the kids. A couple of weeks ago, I made King Arthur’s chocolate sauce, for the first time, to drizzle on a banana split.

The sauce was absolutely delicious! Every night since my kids have been begging to have hot fudge sundae after dinner. Some nights I cave in. . .

I love this recipe because it only makes about one cup of sauce, perfect for several nights of sundaes for a little family like us. It warms up within seconds in the microwave. Making it fast (less than a minute) and easy to throw together a decadent hot fudge sundae for the family.

I have adapted the original recipe slightly. Here is how we make the recipe. . .

Hot Fudge Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 cup Karo Syrup
  • 1/4 cup Milk, Whole or 2%
  • 2 T. Butter
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Directions

Combine sugar, cocoa, karo, and milk into saucepan. Mix well. Cook on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until mixture comes to a full boil.

Turn heat down to medium-low and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Mix until butter is melted and combined.

Serve warm over ice cream.

Store in fridge for 2-3 weeks. Makes 1 cup.

Enjoy!
