Heaven in Your Home

Heaven In Your Home

Everyone, at one time or another, has to cope with the passing of a loved one. The hours and days that follow can almost seem surreal as family gathers to prepare funeral arrangements and remember the life of who has passed on. But once the funeral is done and all the family returns back to their individual homes, the reality of the lose sets in.

When we know of a friend or neighbor going through this it can be hard to know what to say or give to provide comfort. Here is a small, inexpensive gift that you can easily make to show you care and are thinking of them. “One way to heaven in your home– Is to have someone you love in heaven.”

Supplies:

Directions:

Remove the barcode from the tile with some rubbing alcohol.

Prepare the vinyl after it has been cut. (I have attached the SVG – Heaven In Your Home.svg.) Add transfer tape and trim the edges to be about 1/4 inch away from the outer border.

Place vinyl, with it’s backing still on, centered on the tile and tape down.

Flip up and remove backing. Place paper towel or an old towel underneath the vinyl and on the tile. Spray vinyl with a tacky spray. I use Easy Tack by Krylon.

Flip vinyl back down on to tile and press firmly. Remove the transfer tape slowly, making sure all the vinyl is stuck well to the tile. Note: Check out my vinyl application for more detailed instructions, if needed.

Press vinyl down once again, with your finger, to make sure the bond is secure.

If you decide to provide an easel with the tile I recommend buying it at Hobby Lobby. They have the best price and are usually 50% off, costing only $2.50. Now you can gift wrap the the tile and easel with a little raffia. I tied the raffia around one direction and tied a bow. Then I tied more raffia the other direction and tied another bow. This is because my raffia wasn’t long enough and I ended up liking the look the double bow created better. Enjoy! Note: Here is how to tie a bow perfectly.
