A few weeks ago, I was casually glancing through a family fun magazine and saw some adorable paranormal pretzels. I instantly decided that those would be in our candy dish for the month of October. I loved the look the colored candy melts created, but I also don’t have those on hand in my pantry. I wanted to make a simplified version of these treats using things that I usually have within my pantry. So, on Saturday night when Kevin was at the Priesthood Session of General Conference the boys and I got to work on our version of these ghoulish treats. Here is how we did ours. . .Skeleton Pretzels

Ingredients

  • Yogurt Covered Pretzels
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Mini M&M’s
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Silicone Mat or Parchment Paper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Layout your pretzels on the silicone mat that is on the cookie sheet.

Step 2

Place chocolate chips point-side down inside the “eyes” of the pretzels. Having the flat side of the chocolate chip facing up gives the “eyes” a more uniform look.

Step 3

Place the cookie sheet into the oven for 1-3 minutes {Note: I did 1-1/2 minutes.}. Watch carefully. The chocolate chips won’t look melted, but when you touch them with your finger you will see they are melted.Skeleton Pretzels

Step 4

Pull cookie sheet out of the oven and immediately start placing, and gently pushing, the mini M&M’s on to the melted chocolate chips. {Caution: Be very careful the yogurt coating will also be melted. So if you touch it, it will create a blemish or even remove the white coating.}Skeleton Pretzels

Be careful! Can be smeared kind of easily.

Step 5

Once all the M&M’s are placed. Put the cookie sheet into the fridge or freezer for 10-15 minutes. {Note: I placed ours into the fridge for 15 minutes. I tried 10 minutes, but the back side of the “eyes” weren’t set yet.}

Step 6

ENJOY! My boys love these treats. They like how they can see right through the “skeletons” mouth.Skeleton Pretzels
